Kristel Tonstad is Policy Director at the OECD National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct of Norway. She served as Head of Secretariat of the Ethics Information Committee, which presented a draft Transparency Act to the Norwegian Government in 2019. She is currently working on legal commentaries to the Transparency Act and frequently gives lectures about responsible business conduct and regulatory developments. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tonstad has worked with government policies on responsible business conduct (2009) and human rights in foreign policy and development cooperation (2015). She served as a diplomat in Egypt and has worked with UNICEF, the Norwegian Refugee Council and as an independent advisor on business and human rights. Tonstad has a law degree from the University of Oslo and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University.
