About me
Daisuke Takahashi is a Partner at Shinwa Law in Tokyo and Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Business Human Rights Committee. As a “business and human rights (BHR) lawyer”, he has been striving to embed BHR into his legal practices which include global legal compliance, international business transactions, dispute resolution, and litigation.
Daisuke is dedicated to improving access to remedies in BHR matters. He serves as the Representative Director of the JaCER (Japan Center for Engagement and Remedy on BHR), where he oversees a corporate grievance mechanism platform that promotes and supports over 50 Japan-affiliated multinational corporations in addressing human rights issues across their global operations and supply chains.
Based on his private practices, Daisuke works to drive social impact and advance the BHR agenda through public policies. He is a Working Group Member for the National Action Plan on BHR under the Japanese government. He has been appointed as an Alternate Legal Expert for the UN Human Rights Council’s Intergovernmental Working Group on transnational corporations and other business enterprises with respect to human rights.
