Martijn Scheltema is partner of Pels Rijcken and member of the Dutch Supreme Court Bar since 1997. He has been involved in several international landmark cases with the Dutch Supreme Court (e.g. Srebrenica, SNS expropriation, Urgenda) and business human rights cases (e.g. Shell Kiobel).
He also is professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands). He is one of the founders of the Erasmus Law and Sustainable Business research group (

He has advised the Dutch State Department on legislative options regarding corporate sustainability and regularly advises public supervisors.
