Since February 2023 Mr. Hahn is heading the unit for Advocacy and Partnerships within the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work Branch.
Prior to joining FUNDAMENTALS, Mr Hahn served as the Director of the ILO Country Office for Brazil, a position he assumed in March 2018.
Since joining the ILO in 2003, Mr Hahn has dealt with sectoral issues related to the maritime, mining and basic metal production sectors. In addition to sector-specific work, from 2009 to 2016 as well as 2024, Mr Hahn coordinated Conference Committees of the International Labour Conference on issues including Recommendation No.200, Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Protocol of 2014 to the Forced Labour Convention, 1930, SMEs and supply chains.
He holds an LL.M. in International and Commercial Law from Sheffield University (United Kingdom) and a first state examination in law from at the University of Tübingen (Germany). After concluding inservice-training at the regional court of Ravensburg, Mr. Hahn was admitted to the bar in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
