I am Maica U. Saar, Co-founder and Treasurer of Samahan ng mga Nagkakaisang Katutubong Kabataan (SNAKK) (Association of United Indigenous Youth). I am an Indigenous woman and Youth Leader from the community of Pelawan/Pala'wan Indigenous Cultural Community.

I am a strong advocate against extractive activities that will destroy our environment and most especially our ancestral Domain. Being a co-founder of  SNAKK, I understand and realize the importance of our ancestral lands and most especially our rights. Therefore, as an IP Youth, I help in strengthening the capabilities and understanding of my fellow indigenous youth for protecting our environment, our land and also empowering them for their rights as indigenous people and also for conserving and nurturing our traditions, beliefs, and cultures.
