In the Foreign Service since 2012. I became involved with Business and Human Rights in 2014 when I joined the Human Rights Unit of my Ministry. I was in charge of the Dutch National Action Plan from 2014-2017. After a posting to our Embassy in Beijing, I returned to The Hague to become Team Leader Mandatory Due Diligence at the Responsible Business Conduct Unit of the Ministry. In this capacity, I was heavily involved in the development of the "building blocks for mandatory due diligence" that were agreed by the Dutch Council of Ministers on 5 November 2021.
