About me
Euan Chan is the Lead Consultant for Sustainability, Human Rights & Social Value at Value Match, a UK-based sustainable procurement consultancy.
His journey in Business and Human Rights started after the protests in Hong Kong in 2019, during which, he was in an entrepreneurship degree. From his degree background and the turmoil in his homeland, he draws his inspiration to uphold the rights of individuals and communities through ethical business practice. Since then, he has gone on to work at human rights consultancies like The Mekong Club in Hong Kong and STOP THE TRAFFIK in London to advise large businesses in the UK and Europe. He now works in Value Match to support UK private and public sector social value & human rights approaches.
In addition to his consulting responsibilities, he is responsible for creating, leading, and executing Value Match's strategy to mitigate modern slavery risks in our supply chains and operations. This ensures that his business advise to organisations facing similar challenges is informed by ongoing experience of implementation in his own company.
Over his career in business and human rights, his main recent accomplishments have been:Executing an award winning anti-slavery strategy for his company, demonstrated through winning the Unseen Business Award for Individual Impact in 2024 for single-handedly leading Value Match's strategy to mitigate modern slavery. Conducted risk mapping on projects covering roughly £1.5bn in procurement spend across around 2,500 suppliers.Being recognised by the NGO sector for setting new standards in small- and medium- enterprise (SME) supply chain transparency, following the creation and public release of Value Match's supply chain modern slavery risk mapping results.Creating & conducting highly effective modern slavery awareness trainings with a 60% increase in awareness and 90% satisfaction rate, for small businesses and large multinationals in the hospitality, technology, medical, and food & beverage sectors.
In his role focuses now on developing tools and strategies for under-resourced organisations, such as small businesses and the UK education sector, to play their role in upholding human rights and promoting social value in business operations and in procurement.
